Bengal tiger and peacock, 1928. This Bengal tiger was painted at the Bronx Zoo in New York City. The painting was to be featured in a Pennsylvania museum honoring the art of Charles R. Knight, planned by George Frederick Kunz, the renowned gemologist for Tiffany & Company. Unfortunately, Kunz died before his plans for the museum could be realized.

Hunters facing Manchurian tiger. The hunters’ clothing was modeled after ancient jeweled costumes in the collection of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The painting was to be featured in a Pennsylvania museum honoring the art of Charles R. Knight, planned by George Frederick Kunz, the renowned gemologist for Tiffany & Company. Unfortunately, Kunz died before his plans for the museum could be realized.
